Developmental Milestones

Key language milestones to look for in your child's development:

  • 12 months

    Say mama/dada meaningfully plus 1-2 additional words. Follow simple instructions

  • 18 months

    Minimum 10 meaningful words (up to 50), including nouns, verbs, prepositions, and adjectives. Identify six body parts

  • 24 months

    Combine two words purposefully (“No shoes!”). Use pronouns (I, me). Understand complex instructions

  • 3 years

    Speech understandable to strangers. String 2-3 sentences together. Answer who/what/where questions

  • 4 years

    Recite songs/poems from memory. Tell stories about themselves. Understand same/different. Prefer group play
